First Timers

Never done this before? Start here.

If you've never set foot in a sauna or dipped into a cold plunge, you're exactly who Nuvania is built for. Here's how to walk in feeling ready.

What to bring

A swimsuit

You'll wear it for the plunge and sauna.

Nothing else, really

Towels, water, and showers are all here.

An open mind

Especially if you're not sure cold is your thing.

A friend (optional)

It's nice with people. It's nice alone, too.

Six easy tips

Make your first visit easy

1

Start gentle

If high heat feels like a lot, begin in the infrared sauna. Lower air temperature, same payoff.

2

Keep the cold short

Cold plunges are meant to be brief. A short dip counts. You can always do more next round.

3

Breathe slow

The first breaths in the cold are the loudest part. Slow them down and the rest follows.

4

Hydrate

Use the hydration stations between rounds. It makes a real difference to how you feel after.

5

There's no scoreboard

You don't have to last a certain time or do a certain number of rounds. Comfort beats heroics.

6

Ask us anything

Our team orients every first-timer and is happy to suggest a rhythm — or leave you be.

First-timer questions

Completely. Most people are nervous the first time. Start with the sauna, keep your first plunge to a few seconds, and build from there. Nuvania is designed for people at every level of comfort — including those who never thought cold plunge was for them.

About an hour is typical for a full hot-and-cold session, though you're never strictly on the clock. If you only have 30 minutes, the Hot & Cold Express works too.
